Firecrawler

Made for the sound art exhibition Sonámbulo/Sleepwalker (organized by Ruido/Noise).

Firecrawler seeks to track the slumbering underbelly of a summer holiday in the United States usually filled with the sound of percussive explosions (and vastly increased in the pandemic era). This time is taken up with many traditions and rituals, most of which are largely emptied of meaning; this work documents an abstracted creature slowly attempting to navigate the nearly constant barrage all around it, in which its wakeful and dream states are constantly disturbed and confused.

Made to complement the sound piece Song of the Arctic Nightcrawler (2014), also part of the exhibition.
